Responsibilities
Ensure airline procedures are followed in line with the rules and regulations of Transport Canada
Pick up and deliver cargo items to/from the aircraft, while driving on the apron in company cargo van
Work directly with customers to ship cargo domestically and/or internationally via air travel
Accept or deliver cargo in both incoming and outgoing directions
Receive and prepare items to be shipped, obtaining their weight and dimensions
Ensure customers have appropriate packaging in order to ensure safe delivery during air travel
Prepare all airway bills, liability waivers and other documents for customers to reviews and sign prior to shipment
Monitor daily shipment reservations and schedules to verify that items were picked up or delivered at the designated times with correct route information
Use software to follow the progress of shipped items and to both confirm their receipt and notify customers of completed deliveries
Take the necessary steps to retrieve, process and record all of the paperwork on delivery packages
Coordinate with airline partner's cargo department personnel regarding packages that are lost, delayed or damaged
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must be a Canadian citizen or be a permanent Canadian Resident
Personal flexibility to work shift work which could include early mornings, days, late evenings, weekends and/or holidays
Must have a strong awareness of the importance of customer service
You are a skilled communicator, detail oriented, and are able to maintain organization
A physical ability to consistently lift up to 70 lbs/32kgs
Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather
Must wear safety wear – steel toe boots (green patch), reflective vest, and hearing protection
Possess a valid restricted area pass and AVOP (D/A), or be able to obtain one
Possess a valid drivers' license
